Pray for a true prayer
P K Routray
A thought of a deranged brain
under unbearable climatic strain
forces my pen to convey my woes
as beyond limit now here mercury goes.
Too hard here to tolerate
the torturng hot humid climate
with failure of power supply
for the AC soon to run only I pray.
When it runs after the power resumption
I thank the man for their invention.
Forget I my fellow man devoid of those
selfish I am to their misery, eyes I close
oscillating I from praying the Almighty
to thanking the man for his ingenuity.
With guilty at heart of being selfish
my childhood days I recollect and relish.
With no electricity we spend our days and night.
Slept we without even fan read under candle light.
Ponder I over the difference then and now
to find the cause at the back of this show.
Is it the ingenuity of man now I salute?
or lacks the sincerity in our prayer to the Absolute?
The climate has worsened since then
Somebody within me tells it is the foolishness of men.
With time and deteriorating atmosphere
to survive man has to find solution sooner
Or after fifty years majority of mankind will perish
And the rest will fight to die trying to survive and flourish.
