Prayer and trust
P K Routray
In God do we have any trust?
Unflinching, unwavering as is it must?
To atheist and to theist both
we may ask to reply with oath.
we will find them sailing in same cruiser
with varying faith and fear.
Keeping the answer to oneself,
but not telling a lie to his or herself,
let us all ponder
for the truthful answer.
But It is sure,
the answers are obscure.
However to this author,
it does appear.
Ninety-nine percent of us
pray the Almighty to bless
for our materialistic gain
health, wealth and to mitigate pain,
for self, for family and for kith and kin
with doubts on His existence within,
varying the theme and object sought
as per our pure selfish thought.
When we are in dire distress and
helpless
challenging His existence we pray Him to bless.
Still doubts exist
as our logic do resist
because of past impressions,
Infinitesimal scientific inventions
though compared to His infinite, it is a microscopically brief,
still forcing us to see then to belief.
But God does not come in person
and exhibit His power in public to make them certain.
How can we leave anything to Him?
leaving our precious life and a little there on to His whim?
