Real Wisdom
With internet and WhatsApp
and plenty of modern gadgets to top
to children of this era, I must explain
with no electricity and no airplane,
darkness around from dusk to dawn
a kerosene lamp for bare illumination,
hooting of owls to the howling of jackals
grandma’s’ stories from ghouls to angels
then from where we grew up to this stage
with all inventions in their hands, we could raise.
Tales from grandma to curb our yells
peep in me often unveiling their spells
With experiences and wisdom
they glitter with Morales awesome.
The story of a scholar and a boatman
while rowing across a river’s swelling span
and the barracks of the queries of the scholar,
nothing the illiterate boatman could answer.
“You remain foolish; the living is futile for you”
Satire the scholar at the boatman the lone crew.
“Sir! Do you know swimming to cross the river
as the boat is sinking and I am diving to the water.”
The scholar’s wisdom is of no value
if for the bare survival it has no clue.
Now rush of all to the laurels of the net
deprive the laborers on the lands to sweat.
Excelling one another in intellect and wisdom
to reach the galaxies beyond the galaxy of uranium
but to produce a loaf of bread and a spoon of butter
though it may aid but independently can produce never.
The boatman is wise or wise is the scholar
now the net on the hand of kids, to the future is the answer.
