Special features of the Hindu Philosophy
P K Routray
The Hindu philosophy has some unique features deviating from other religions,
for the evolution, the sustenance and the dissolution of His creation with repetitions.
(1)
Liberation is the ultimate human goal,
This speaks the merger of individual soul with supreme soul,
Wisdom, good thoughts and good deeds devoid of attachment lead to liberation,
These are achieved over many a birth by austerity, penance and meditation
Good karmas and bad karmas both yield transitory results for the lives on this earth,
to be good or bad, lucky or unlucky, man or animal, a king or a pauper only in the subsequent birth.
(2)
The blessing of God and the effect of Karmas with divine thoughts and wisdom leading to liberation,
are explained by a Hindu Monk in his following citation.
A man standing on top of a cliff
decides to jump below in to the sea deep and stiff,
He prayed God to save and jumped for his death.
God neither punished him for this reckless action nor saved him from his last breath.
The result was inevitable due to his karma out of ignorance,
it is never the result of his sin by any chance.
This man may have to be born and to be reborn,
to build up his good karmas with good thoughts and wisdom to find a probable liberation.
Virtuous thoughts and good actions lead to the true wisdom guiding the soul the path to its ultimate goal.
Bad ones lead to bondage to a life on this earth for limitless cycles of births and deaths with sufferings to his soul.
