The Sun pales
P K Routray
With mighty power of the sun
its pervading rays, can avoid none.
So goes the human thinking
hence a lie cannot stay hiding.
But still mightier and faster is poetic thought
unlike the sun rays, it can touch sensitively every spot
immaterial, whether it is located within or outside
but sureenders it, to the imaginative poetic stride.
It can be told, on a spot where the sun light cannot reach,
all barriers to that spot poetic thoughts can breach.
The sun light has a measurable and definite speed
but all the limits, the speed of poetic thoughts can exceed.
An opaque object impedes the sun light to travel further
but to forge ahead the poetic thoughts take a curved path or jump over.
The sun light depicts only the objects’ visible characters
the poetic thoughts adds many dimensions to it with imaginative feathers
to force an appealing effect of its character on the viewers,
pales the sun light in comparison to poetic thoughts on all these measures.
