Three Most important Epics of India

Here is a dare devil attempt to briefly narrate to the readers,
the barest minimum of the three epics worshiped and read
in India with devotion and prayers.
In all religions Almighty gets revealed in epics,
to save mankind and bless them with happiness, peace and bliss.
There exist eighteen epics in Hindu religion,
Composed by one great Vyas after penance and meditation.
The other great epic is The Ramayan composed by Valmiki, a great sage,
He was once a pirate but later turned to a saint as a miracle of mirage.
These epics were studied, remembered and passed in vocal form from generation to generation,
when written scripts were not available and not known.
With advent of scripts their texts were engraved on walls rocks and palm leaves,
Those palm leaves still exist and with faith we worship.
The greatest epics considered is The Bhagwata and other two greats are The Ramayan and The Mahabharat,
I appeal to the readers for the Heaven’s blessing to remember these names by heart.
All religions converge at one “The limitless infinity the Almighty,
He is so perfect that a minute electron in the cosmos has to function as per his command and defined property.

In all three epics glories of God have been dwelt upon,
with one aim to generate in the readers a sublime reform and devotion.
A mother speaks of her child and the child’s glory alone,
It is love in divine form, through mother, it finds expression.
The epics have millions of verses in Sanskrit,
I beg His pardon for having have abridged it without any merit

The Ramayan speaks of the lord Ram
an incarnation of God in human form.
He was born to king Dasarath with other three brothers,
Married to Goddess Sita and was forced to go to forest for fourteen years.
With him went wife Sita and brother Laxman,
To honor father’s promise and to kill many a demon,
Ravan was the king of Demons, in the island kingdom of Srilanka,
He abducted mother Sita to avenge the insult meted out to his sister Supernekha.
Ram developed friendship with monkeys in the forest,
Located Sita, built a bridge across the sea and fought with Ravana, the greatest
Rescued Sita back before any harm to her was done.
Later he became an ideal king with Ayodhya,as his dominion,
For the sake of his subjects,banished Sita , his wife , so dear , to the wilderness of the forests,
His reign , was so ideal and full of deeds righteous,
People always refers to Rama Rajya as the rule glorious.

The Mahabharat centers round the quarrel in a dynasty over the throne,
Speaks with many exciting stories with hidden teachings for us as lesson.
Lord Krishna was the main master behind the scene as dwelt on in the epic,
He guided the Truth to win over falsehood and give the mother earth a great relief.
Kaurava headed by Duryodhan represented evil and falsehood,
Pandavas consisting of five brothers headed by Yudhistir fought for truth with Lord Krishna behind them who stood .
All five brothers married to Draupadi as desired by their mother,
Arjun had won a stiff competition among many to win her.
The Pandavas lost to the Kauravas in a game of dice with Draupadi as the wager,
As an additional condition of bet they were exiled to forest for twelve years and remained in unnoticed banishment one year further.
Mahabharat war fought between Kaurava and Pandavas was over in eighteen day,
The Great Gita was generated by the Lord as an inspiration to the deluded Arjun who was running away from the fray
The war exhibited the height of technology in warfare,
But also taught the respect for the rules and truth which kauravs had not taken care.
Pandavas won the battle and ruled the kingdom,
Justice, truth and virtue got priority with freedom.

The Bhagawata was the greatest epic composed by Vyas as his last contribution,
To get sublime peace and bliss it was his contemplation.
The supreme lord passed the theme to His appointee the creator Brahma in four stanza ,
It passed from Brahma to Narad and then to Vyas who magnified the same to a bonanza .
In The Bhagawat, the primary and secondary creation have been elaborated,
The creation of earth, with unit of time and division of space, has been cited.
Details of the ten incarnations of Vishnu , the supreme God , have been detailed ,
To destroy evils and sin and to re-establish righteousness on the earth Lord got incarnated
The birth of lord Krishna and all his plays and actions at various stages have found place,
He killed demons and their king kamsa and giving the universe the much needed solace.
In Bhagawatam, Udhab Gita , Kapila Gita and Hansa Gita besides the Bhagawat Gita, emanated from the mouth of Vishnu, the supreme Lord ,
His preaching has made the epic as the greatest and revered.

The Mahabharat has more than one lakh verses with words of around two millions,
The Ramayan has twenty five thousand,
The Bhagawatam has eighteen thousand verses in its composition.
Hence I beg excuse from readers for my omissions and commissions
And pray lord for His mercy on my arrogance to limit the infinity in my above expression with many a deletion.
