Umbrella over head

for rain and sun it makes a shed.

From east or west for poor or rich, young or old

the umbrella still remains the same, men only hold.

With its history tracing from stone age

when it was made of leaf and foliage

over the years it did not change much

though with little modification it got multicolor touch.

Rain coat came and failed in competition

as unlike umbrellas’ use it has limitation.

While protecting from rain and sun with success

it fails and fears the wind when it is excess.

With intensity of wind it dances with its holder

at times it gets overturned  and looks like a flower.

Technologists are called to improve upon its design

to make it convenient to carry but against wind it should be fine.

There existed umbrella with bamboo and palm leaf

under it days together shepherds can stay and sleep

In rain a stadium or a market place looks like a garden

flowering with multicolored umbrellas thrown open.
