Worry Me
Distinguished Alumnus
incredibly prestigious
as an unrivaled recognition
by our mother institution
a lifetime pride possession
that our pal Lalatendu has won
towering over many bests
enriching to humans, the assets.
Lala is a sure and clear winner
being a lifetime achiever all-rounder
in arts crafts, sports, and music
on and off the stage he is unique
in technology and management
his immature exit RSP still laments.
over smarted he the guidelines
that apex board has to redefine
to the call of our Alma[mater
It is lala and Lala none other.
His seventy batch Rengcolians
danced forgetting age as hooligans
as if Lala has incarnated in each of them
and they are all Lala winning the acclaim.
But deranged friends a few like me
search follies in the ocean of glee
and as I feel I must speak out
to friends’ bondage, I cannot flout.
Did madam Shanti had a proud feel
owning a spouse with superb skill?
Did she not feel neglected and perturbed?
when Lsla’s love for his hobbies could not be curbed
not sharing the loads off from her shoulder.
Had she not grudged or did she not suffer?
Now at her unfortunate ailing state
she must be in need of Lala]’s love in spate.
Need we a confirmation from Shanti madam
Lala’s laurel she loves from her heart’s bottom.
And I am wrong on my perception and apprehension
her Lala is a divine boy beyond my mortal comprehension.
But still Hey Madam! Hug him tight never loosen your hold
Extra ordinaries are always fickle as history has told
I need to see a hearty smile from Shanti Madam
to accept this laurel of Lala as deserved and awesome.
All these Madam are in a lighter vein
share I, madam, your pride, Save me from Lala’s cane.

(Lalatendu is my classmate. We passed in 1970. Now my Alma-mater has awarded for his contribution in life. All my batchmates are very happy. His wife Shanti is bedridden and sick.)
