Empathy

It sounds silly, but I feel others pain,.
Often sympathetic when tryna figure out ones mind frame.
We are not the same, yet in many ways we are,
yet these days I'm thinking, there are so many ways we aren't.
Our thinking patterns are worlds apart, yet we live on the same estate.
I'd give a tramp my last quid,
You'd rob a granny that ain't even cold in her grave.
So nah, we aren't the same.
I feel every inch of someone's pain.
You go to a funeral, tanked up as though going to a rave,
I'd sooner stay at home, than see the sheer grief in the bereaving families face.
You see a car crash, pull out your phone and start filming,
I'm the one running over there, pulling the victim out as they're screaming.
I'm seething at this ludicrous mentality we now have.
Yet pulling you all up on it makes me the one look bad.
If I'm honest, I'm sad, that single syllable rhymes are the only way I can get my point across.
Guess what I'm tryna say now, is all empathy is lost.
Lets face it though, I'm sure you all have better things to do.
I could go on talking about it, until my face turned blue.
Things can change, but its all up to you.
I'm not burdening you personally,
I mean you, as in all of you.
Imagine spending the whole day walking in another mans shoes,
You would feel the weight on his shoulders, that he cant seem to remove.
So if we stand united, rather than alone,
Maybe, just maybe, hate and bitterness will start to dissolve.
