Goodbye Mr Thorburn

I threw lemons at Cliff Thorburn on a dark and stormy night
When he'd lost to Stephen Hendry fifteen-four,
His potting was atrocious and his game plan wasn't right
So I pelted him with lemons at the door.
He looked a little comical with citrus on his face
A bewildered, helpless look within his eyes
Then security they grabbed me and they chucked me out the place
And I never had a chance to say 'Goodbye'.
So goodbye Mr Thorburn, hope your game's improved a lot
That you've given your bewilderment the boot,
I hope that you still see me as the bestest fan you've got
Not just some nutter who once covered you in fruit.
