The Introducer-2

Her name
was Connie Marie,
but no one
involved with the
Poetry reading
knew.
She was just
the "Introducer".
She didn't really have
a Russian accent,
nor any kind
of cultural background,
other than the
time she
dressed up as a
a Spanish slave-owner
for her school's play.
She had been in
charge of the Poetry
reading, for
almost 10 years now.
She wore a wig,
strong perfume,
lots of makeup,
and used a fake
accent,
because she was
afraid of
being someone
boring.
She goes home every night,
to stare in the mirror
at a face that
has no make-up,
wears no wig,
and cries,
because everytime
she looks in the mirror,
she sees herself,
as being,
just another
nobody.
