One Tick Short of a Tock

Senior moment Friday evening. Had planned to go to Elgin Cathedral on the ‘free entry’ deal on Saturday. Bus there, eyes peeled for bow-fiddle rock on the way. Friday night, realised, the free entry offer is called ‘Historic Sundays’ for a reason.
The winter bus schedule means that Sunday buses are now every two hours, then very few and very far between. As couldn’t face hanging about and was already looking forward to the day out, decided to stick to the plan and go on Saturday anyway. The cathedral is a ruin, so could still visit and take some photos. Had also ordered a non-ticking alarm clock online, and arranged to collect it in Elgin Argos.
I once heard a grandfather clock which had the most calming tick I ever felt. Must have been aligned to brain waves, or the heartbeat; it certainly calmed both down. My alarm clock has the most adamant tick of any clock that ever tocked. If I wake up in the night, the uber-tick of this bully of a clock stops me getting back to sleep again. Sometimes I imagine it gets louder, crescendoing on belligerent purpose. So, googled and found a nice, calm, tick-free alarm clock.
Saturday was glorious, the cathedral precinct, very peaceful. Couldn’t help but wonder what happened to all the stained glass.
Strolled around the ‘Biblical Garden’, just me and a robin. Heathen crows perched higher up, on the cathedral ruins.
Walking through Cooper Park, turned around for another view, and saw it is possible to climb up the towers. Has to be done. Decided to drive there Sunday, with the free entry ticket, afterall.
Walked a new route into Elgin and found the cheeriest shop ever, the shortbread shop. Joy. Couldn’t decide between shortbread Scotties, Sheep or Highland cows.
(Sheep).
