Toffee-Crisp-Trickster Ways

No Spend, the plus side; virtually no food wasted, healthier meals, smaller portions, less sugar, variety from trying new recipes, ringing in the changes has been as good as a rest.
The realities; limited budget for weekly basics only works when there is already a pantry full of in-date store cupboard ingredients and a freezer full of soup/mince with sixteen vegetables, the odd doubler of discernible sausages, and chicken stock. Perhaps the occasional surprise piece of halibut. Otherwise, it’s simply not possible. Sadly, now understand why even working people need food banks, and it has been a humbling exercise on that front. Covid may be over, but the price hikes are not. What I don’t understand is why people are putting up with it.
Also bringing many uncomfortable insights into self-defeating habits where food is concerned – it is impossible to ‘not go gently into that goodnight’ (on your own terms) if you eat as much sugar as I do. That can’t continue.
Supermarkets, all supermarkets, are enablers. But I’m the one day-dreaming along with their mesmerising yellow-label Toffee-Crisp-Trickster ways, and don’t quite understand why my brain didn’t rage against it before.
Is this the future? AI taking Toffee-Crisp-Trickery to insidious levels in all paths of life, in ways the mind can only boggle at.
Was reading about scarcity mindset. The fear of not having enough. I don’t think that’s my fear exactly. My fear is of losing everything and ending up a bag lady. Although, I think I’d rock at being a bag lady, doesn’t take much to make me go feral.
Solutions; Gratitude. Counting of blessings. Slow-cooking of healthy ingredients. 80:20 is fine. Cultivate the generosity mindset. Donate to food banks.
And have invented supermindfulness - supermarket-mindfulness. Eyes peeled for Toffee-Crisp-Trickery. Keep them on the prize – abundant, healthy future.

I'm sorry. Though also, I am
I'm sorry. Though also, I am glad, as I could not. Desperation for fruit is my downfall (like Eve, only not so consequential) Goodness knows what would have happened in Eden if there were Toffee Crisps on a tree!
