Your Aunt Flow, my mother said, has she arrived?
Aunt Flow? I said and bit my lip
You know my dear, your monthly she cried
No, no I flushed, course not! I lied
When I went to bed that night
I wept into my pillow
I really, really hated Aunt Flow
I just wanted her to go
I didn't want to be grown
I wanted to be a child
I wanted to play and have fun
I didn't want to be a woman like my mum
I went to school with bleary eyes
Knowing things had changed
My secret pocket full of pads
I had to hide them from the lads
Aunt Flow was such a nasty cow
No one asked for her to come
If I could make just any wish
I'd give this awful thing a miss!
