Falling

Catholic Liz pays a visit to Barbara every Wednesday at 11am.
In her spare time Barbara plays golf with her husband Ray in Palm
Springs.
To pay for the golf she listens.
In the car on the way there I see a man on the sidewalk.
He holds up a sign that reads,
'DYING OF AIDS PLEASE HELP ME'
I want to reach out to him,
hold him,
give him everything I ever had.
Liz drives on.
Immune?
Liz cries for Barbara on cue.
I now want to hold Liz.
I want to tell her that she does not have to do this.
Please cry for me.
A week later I arrange to see Barbara again.
This time alone.
I talk to her about myself,
about my little problem.
I feel better now.
I understand.
Who does Barbara talk to when her heart is breaking?
