London’s curtains twitch.
Mondays itch.
As the sun breaks.
Torching us awake,
when the world has gone.
We’re this!
A new driven nation.
Dancing our own streets.
Hear us!
Because.
We’ll smile now,
sing a new song.
Given half a chance.
The raising of five rings.
A school sports day.
Was all it took.
Listen!
It’s our change,
our found expectation.
Illuminating us.
This new breed.

I don't like sport. But
I don't like sport. But apparently the Olympics are going to bring revenue into the country for the next twenty years and exceed the millions spent on them. But what I like most is the level of National pride that they've sparked. And poems like this emphasise that...Nice one.
