I climb aboard my train to you,
my heart humming an impatient song,
my feet tapping, tap-dancing.
My mind is everywhere and nowhere,
I am a trapped bird,
I will fly out at the next stop,
minding the gap,
I will zoom down the tunnel to you.
But, no, I forget, I have clipped wings,
I must wait, journey, pilgrimage with
these other poor sweating souls.
Penance to be endured,
pining in my singing, dancing way.
We finally arrive,
I fly to you, wings opening,
feet dancing, heart singing,
air thickening with promised reward.
