‘Have a chocolate?’

She gave me a box of chocolates:
“Have one with me”,
I said.
The paper was stuck, unpeeled it, and
what a sight there was to see!
Some strange odd shape,
spread out to scrape
with a link of rose or raspberry pink:
‘Oh, No!’ she said, ‘What have I done?
‘Who else have I given a similar one?’
The cold car journey
was the likely cause –
an air vent probably sent
hot air swirling round that box
to melt those lovely ever-lost chocs!
[just thought to add this under this week's IP of a/the gift]
