Autumn Shades

Multi-shades and shapes of brown
scattered on the green,
where the wind has blown and thrown
– sun sparkles dewy scene.
Green and yellow, brown and red
cover bridleway
soon to sink into the mud,
rotting in the clay.
Drumming rain the treescapes shroud,
mist hides leafy view;
sun breaks through and clears the cloud,
igniting every hue.

I particularly like the last stanza. The moist leaves do glimmer in the sunlight.

Beautifully described
Beautifully described appreciation of the scenery, Rhiannon. It took its time this year, but Autumn in all its glory seems to be finally here.
Enjoyed reading your poem.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
This is very appropriate for today - with the sun shining on the fallen leaves, as I sit looking out my window. I like the word treescapes.

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
just been reading some of your poetry and found this beauty. It's so fitting as we approach Autumn. I just loved that last stanza:-
Drumming rain the treescape shroud,
mist hides leafy view;
sun breaks through and clears the cloud,
igniting every hue.
The thing about the sun in the Autumn is, that it's not too hot, just a pleasure to observe the beauty around without feeling muggy and uncomfortable.
Anyway glad I found this one, it was a pleasure to read.
Jenny.
