Stop that bickering in the back!
Mummy needs to keep this truck on track!
No more quarrels, or silly squabbles –
accidents and crashes cause terrible troubles;

so keep it quiet there behind,
and don’t distract my eyes and mind!

I too was the sort of mother who made the kids be quiet when I was driving - or else. Its hard enough to negotiate traffic without fighting coming from the back seat.

Thanks, Jean. it was writtten I think in response to helping a mum with three young kids, and one not so young! But I also had memories of being told of the other gran telling my grandsons not to argue in the back, and the younger one answering that mum and dad argued, and his older brother telling him patiently that mum and dad didn't argue just sometimes 'talk rather loudly'!
