Choices

Will you choose a veggie meal,
or will you choose the meat?
Will you choose the savoury,
or no, preferring sweet?
Will you choose to drive,
or will you choose to walk?
Will you keep your silence,
or now decide to talk?
Will you roam the hillside,
of holiday by the sea?
Will you take a caring role,
or choose to remain free?
Will you choose to ask for help,
will you choose to pray?
or rather fall if you can’t make
it on your own, your way?
Always choices,
always voices
pushing this way, or …
Some things matter little,
some things matter more.
Some things need great wisdom
– rules of truth unknown,
or confused, ignored, but –
– don’t treat pearls with scorn!

This is actually a profound question
This is actually a profound question Rhiannon, once I asked a doctor how a person makes a decision, he says they don't know. I suspect it has to do with determinism or a free will and the ancient philosophical problem. Well for religion to make sense you would have to have a free will. Anyway we have some much better intelectuals and philosophers here on Abc that could shed some light. Paul & Paul you might say.
See you! Tom

I am thank-you
I am thank-you. You have a very practical way of seeing this determinism question, a very useful approachl, best one can do really. My brother is not feeling well hell I hope he's alright it has to do with his health after those two big operations last year. The fith now he will be smoke free for one year. I don't smoke either and neither of us drink.
Our mental health, both are very good and has been since very long. Sometimes like to just just fool around a bit.
There was a blackout over the weekend for more than55 hours but it was very local- just a few houses.
We had elections yeaterday they are counting votes now the final resukts will only come out the weekend. Looks like it was a success and "free and fair".
Excuse the spelling, bit of a hurry. Keep well! Tom

You explain how the choices
You explain how the choices we have are always freely given, its up to us to think clearly before we make the next move. it brings to mind my decision to push our car and unfortunately take a tumble, which I'm still in a lot of knee pain with.
We don't stop to realize how much of a profound effect it can have on our life.
Well thought out poem Rhiannon.
Jenny.
