Getting Ready (and other fun pieces)

Woven together in the depth of the womb,
expelled in due time to a sheltering home,
to be cared for and loved, well nurtured and taught,
nourished and guided with faithful support:
a labour of love, hard graft, joy and fun,
there’s years of such duties when once begun.
Aghast if a child left to flounder unfed;
don’t leave them to blunder in the world, unled.
[This week’s IP: Childhood] I have done many fun pieces about childhood previously, which are in my 'Families' collection eg

There's always so much to do
There's always so much to do when a baby comes into the world. Much patience are needed, but still as a mother I remember feeling constant worries of whether I was doing the job right. Luckily I had a great health visitor.
Best make the most of the freedom while baby is still in the womb.
Enjoyed your poem Rhiannon.
