Good government?

A revolution to remove
a ruler dicatatorial:
new leaders lording with no love
oppress by law tyrannical.

They beat their work-flock and expect
to have their rules observed,
not caring for a real respect
unearned and undeserved.

We rightly criticize those paid
to oversee our land,
when they have laziness displayed,
hide greed by slight of hand.

But we are glad we still have right
to argue or accuse  –
no violence, but with words polite
speak out concerns and views.
