Hot Air, Cold Showers (IP)

Building castles in the air
– reason doesn’t rule up there –
plans, ideas, little care
how on solid ground they’d fare …
Pseudo-science, cults and ‘isms’,
excited schemes that lead to schisms,
dreams of status, wealth and fame –
a praised, and honoured, well-known name …
Cowboy builds will early flop,
ill-formed scams grind to a stop,
escape to ventures that can thrill –
up in the clouds, then comes a spill …
In the sky we paint a picture,
no principles of architecture,
its airy-fairy mist foundation
comes down to earth: precipitation.
[This week's IP: "There are no rules of architecture for a castle in the clouds" GK Chesterton]

A splendid expose' on the
A splendid expose' on the unrealistic dreams and far-fetched schemes of mankind. I like your free-flowing rhyme-scheme. I would probably change "airy fairy" to ethereal or surreal, but that is my selfish preference. Enjoyed reading your well-thought out lines.

Hi Rhiannon
I enjoyed reading this, and have read some of Chesterton's work.
