Isn’t it amazing what a cup of tea can do?

Birds brighten, and so does my brain,
– thermochromic paints excited again,
and I'm re-hydrated, as I partake,
soothed and stimulated, a bit more awake!
    : morning chorus?

I don't think my partner is plugged in till he has had his first cup of tea :0) I wonder if listening birds think our kettles bubbling is human dawn (ish) chorus?

Many of us seem to benefit!

This cup was a present from one of my children for my birthday, and the colours of the birds when the cup gets hot are really good, and then they go to silhouettes again as the cup cools! Rhiannon

You can't beat a cuppa first thing in the morning and those birds just make my day too.

Thanks, Jenny. I mentioned to Di the history of the cup in the picture that inspired the little poem. The birds certainly look as if they are singing a morning chorus when the cup is filled with a hot cuppa, and I'm more like a singer when I've had a cuppa probably! Rhiannon

Hi Rhiannon

The poem and the cup are remarkable. I love to waken to the dawn chorus. But I am a coffee drinker, but I think the sentiment is the same

Thank you, Jean. Yes, coffee would 'wake' their colours too! I took the cup into the Care Home a couple of days ago, and after showing a few the black silhouettes, I knocked on the catering team's door, and asked if the young lad who answered if he could fill it with hot water, and explained why. He was intrigued, and brought it back filled with really boiling water, and saw the colours beginning to appear. I then showed mother-in-law and a couple of other residents. In the end it was so slow cooling, I had to go to her room and fill it with cold water, for the trasformation back! Rhiannon
