On Little Mountain, near Bredwardine

Little Mountain where once we got lost*
(wrong path curves far, as we found to our cost)
amongst dead bracken with a blue dome sky
glimpsing far down the meandering Wye
patches of squelch, but mainly quite dry,
west-side gorse flowerless, but gold in the east
far views and peaceful, from pressures released.

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
I read this piece and also the other poem you wrote. I myself have been lost in the wilds of who knows where and it's extremely scary. I think the hardest part is loosing track of time and hoping you can find your way back before nightfall.
Even the dead bracken is somehow beautiful in this poem, giving a sense of calm and peace.
Thank you for sharing.
Jenny.
