Maundy Thursday

Will I admit I need a wash
deep in those parts whose doors are locked,
and hidden secrets lie
to moulder, worry, putrify;

and then receive him, Bread of Life
his body broken, life outpoured
in great transaction by my Lord
to purchase for me such a wash
that’s unobtainable by cash;

will I accept this clean-up free
and let him serve and transform me?
