A little bird ‘IwanTit’*
around my eyes will flit
and perch on pride
when I’ve espied
some new attractive acquisition,
tweeting the fake notion
that I deserve this popular posession:
its wings fan up obsession.
So will I let IwanTit* lead
to only heed
the voice of lust and greed
and peck away thoughts of another’s need;
will I be on my guard
responsibly to use my plastic card,
that mischief-maker’s murmurs disregard.
*= I want it

I had a lovely yellow little budgie
I had a lovely yellow little budgie she was tame and knew some words her name was Sandy, but the cat got hold of her while I was cleaning her cage. She was never the same it still haunts me can you believe it.
All the best! Tom Brown
PS. My late uncle taught me that when he picks something up in a shop to look at he always asks himself "Do I need it, or do I want it?" And people will now be shopping like mad like always covid or not.
