Morphing Treescapes

The view of trees so gaunt and grey
along the road, is giving way
to softening tinge of green transforming
as now the sun’s begun its warming:
memories of the harsh cold, stark,
and bare uncovered trunks and bark
now fade,
until we see fresh beauty
in autumn colours, harvest bounty,
and silhouettes on winter skyline
of fine-drawn skeletons in cooler sunshine.

Wow Rhiannon!
Wow Rhiannon!
You've managed to give us all four seasons in two short stanzas. That is a tour de force in economy - I think we should all take note. Amazing and amazingly good.

Really liked this, Rhiannon.
Really liked this, Rhiannon. Nature is a wonderful expression of God and you have captured this majesty so well. Thanks for your comments on my last poem 'The Spelling Bee', I think I voted it great feedback but I took it off quite quickly. Your Welsh perspective was of interest to me. I was aiming it at children of five or six or those with learning difficulties but I think in some quarters it did not go down well!
