Big sky,
evening light,
full Lugg churning on,
meandering,
golden setting rays glint
on the ripples of
each of the further meanders,
show the movement, flow;
leafless trees,
patterened twigs
stark against blue sky…
so quiet, still,
rippling water,
a little birdsong.
(tune out the lorries on the nearby road!).

Am so glad you have got out
Am so glad you have got out to see your countryside and be inspired to write another beautiful poem! And your photo is gorgeous too. What does the word Lugg sound like? Reading, I was rhyming it with chug, like it was part of a huge gleaming engine, but that's probably not right?
