“Blow-your-hat-off” wind
blustery, bustling,
dying bracken rustling,
boots crunching,
sheep staring, silently munching –
up to the fort,
flat peak ‘parade-ground’,
enclosed by green-mound-wall-remains,
circling round
– look out west to far Welsh hills,
south-east to Titterstone Clee,
northwards to the Shropshire hills:
wind blasts across fast,
freshens,
bright impressions
for camera, heart
and head.

This certainly was invigorating to read Rhiannon. With your descriptions I felt I was there in amongst those rolling hills, gazing out over the miles of beauty.

alliteration, a slipping in and out of rhyme that looks and sounds comfortable when read, and a vivid word picture that really obviates the need for the lovely photos accompanying the post make this a very fine read indeed.

I love "blustery, bustling" reminds me of the noise of waterproofs worn for cold windy days. Like Insert says, my heart lifts when I find one of your nature poems
