Rushing, bulging river flow,
sodden spongy tussocks,
mucky mulch,
slithery, squelchy mud;
drizzle curtain passes over,
buffeting, refreshing wind,
sodden sheep,
brave wild snowdrop clusters
in the drab of road and river banks,
a clump of daffodil spears,
some tree buds swelling,
a few hedge leaves are breaking through,
more bird-song sounding
– life’s inching forward towards spring.

Nature has a way of coping with even the most harshest of conditions as described perfectly here in your poem.
