Servant or Tyrant (IP)
By Rhiannonw
- 2009 reads
Rapid chemical reactions,
exothermic oxidations,
complex carbohydrates splitting –
simpler bonds, recombinations,
timber crackling and spitting,
sparks and photons bright emitting,
flames of gases incandescent,
leaving CO2, smoke, ash:
valued highly when a servant –
warmth in need, and dark extinguished;
terribly destructive tyrant
when escaping, fleeing, freed –
locust-like, consumes at speed.

HI Rhiannon
HI Rhiannon
Your first stanza sounds very technical. I liked that. Taking something simple like a fire, and making it as complex and exciting and mysterious as possible.

I agree with Jean. There is an energy in the first stanza and philosophy in the second.

Hello Rhiannon,
Hello Rhiannon,
What a great response to the I.P. Very cleverly put together and your view of the two sides of fire encapsulated in the title. Another fine piece of work which I very mujch enjoyed reading.
