Fuel afire that heat supplies,
emitting power to energise
whatever in its pathway lies,
to warm a faraway place.

Mysterious waves so energetic,
photon quanta of magnetic
oscillating field electric
travelling fast across the vast
vacuum of empty space.

Electromagnetic radiation
bringing heat to its destination
Infra-red has longer wavelength
than that of light, and optimal strength    
arriving at the atmosphere
of our rotating, tilting sphere
where weather systems, changing seasons
cause highs and lows for various reasons.
