Weakening Muscles and Mind (IP)

Inflexible wrist,
slipping grip missed,
dish fell with a clattering,
all the food splattering
the floor and the chair,
mess everywhere:
a touch of despair –
but someone is caring,
clears up discreetly,
his dignity sparing.
Later, he tries to explain,
he can’t read the book again,
for it may be twelve hours out,
and his watch must be left alone;
… ‘but what am I worrying about?’ …
where’s the thing gone
that I point and hold
if I’m feeling cold,
to make the flames high,
… from my chair I could try …
‘who’s got my statements?
they’ll make me hot,
have I showered, or not?
there’s a button or password
on my book to press …
take the batteries out of my torch
to make the video go —
it will all be repeats, I know:
(feeling distress)
thoughts all in a muddle,
they float and befuddle,
mix together, don’t match:
will you please try to catch
my meaning, and help me? …

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
It is so sad watching somebody who was strong and wise disintegrate before your eyes.
