A lonely little worm once crawled his way through life, with no friends and no company, apart from the birds singing playfully above. His days was a long trudge for leaves and grass as food, but secretly he was longing for a friend, and the warmth of companionship. He went through the longest and loneliest of seasons, but as he grew older, he felt his body starting to change, and he felt that it was time for a long sleep. He climbed high up to the highest branch in a nearby tree, and spun a cocoon around himself, as a bed for his blissful slumber. Once inside the cocoon he rolled himself up into the tiniest of balls and he found that he was lonelier than ever. As he fell asleep, he wondered f he would ever have the joy and happiness of loving friends. This thought made him very sad but soon he was fast asleep. A lonely little guy cut of from the world in the darkness of his own cocoon. After what seemed like the longest of time he started to waken. He struggled a bit in the cocoon at first to free himself from its silken fabric, but soon he had torn his way outside, where the sun was shining, and the sky was a brilliant blue. Suddenly he found that he could fly. He had changed into a beautiful butterfly in his slumber. Then, as he took to the air and flew around in wonderous circles, he found that the sky was filled with millions of splendid butterflies like himself. The were fluttering all about displaying their wonderous colors to the world. He joined them up above and glided in the breeze amongst his newfound friends with joy. It was a marvelous summer's day, and all the world was in bloom. He would never be sad and lonely again.
