I sit and I cry,
Alone in this storm,
I don't undertand why,
I must be so alone,
I wish I could fly,
But instead I'm sitting here,
Waiting to die,
I can only wish you knew,
How much I still love you.

Hi Maria First of all, good

Hi Maria
First of all, good for you for writing poetry, I hope it brings you a lot of joy. I am finding it different replying to a teenager rather than an adult, maybe a teacher at school would be a good person to show your work to as they would be able to evaluate it with a reference to the sort of thing that other people your age are writing. It is a bit of a cliche that teenagers often write a lot about their tortured souls, relationships they are going through, boyfriends. I did it when I was your age and it is a great way of helping you to work out your feelings. I would never say don't do it, in my experience it can only be positive so keep on writing about whatever is important to you. I would however say that it may not always be the sort of thing that adults will appreciate, so if you are posting your work out into the adult world then be aware of this. Such things as wishing you could fly away, sitting and crying are sometimes thought of as being cliche. What this means is that, no matter how personal they may feel to you, they are thought of as being ideas, phrases or images that many people have used before, or that are very obvious ones. A lot of adults(and good writers I think) avoid this sort of thing. Of course a lot of adults don't avoid it, but maybe they should.
Anyway, read lots of good poetry if you want some help, keep writing what you want to write and I wish you all the best. Thanks for letting me read your poems. Rob
