A Canoeing Journey
---upon these waters
that swell and splash against the hull
our sleek canoe fingers its way---
lazy strokes, an easy glide
teasing a watery lip.
Canters alongside the winding bank, as
aged waterlines
once caroused this way
remember then, old ships from elsewhere
came.
The day is bright upon his face, ahead
are days of gentle grace
this route provides
a scenic glide
through our meandering stream
once again, a powerful time
to dream---
