within my arms. And

as I lay here

thinking of

how I pursued you-

that glint

that smile

in your eye caught

me unaware

how I dreamed of one

like you

pleasant and playful

cheerful as a

chickadee feeding as

a birdy should

at the trough of living.

And to think

we were in love at first

sight. Married then

children & 45 years later

love still in bloom.
