She bathes herself
in the warmth of sun
homeless on the streets
grey haired lady
not interested in an apt.
nor in-house rules
happy to be her own boss-
she’s the mistress of
her fate.
Today's special – her
birthday. From her home
under a church porch
one knotty hole allows her
to see a myriad of stars-
how they light up the sky
one even winked Good Night.

Very sad Richard- 'old men with broken teeth stranded without love'. But yes it doesn't mean they can't be happy, 'nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so'.
