His Eyes

are saying goodbye

family surrounds--

and aroused from sleep

tries to get up

but pushed back

slowly and gently

by his oldest

by the same hand

that blasted .300

in Little League

the same hand

that squeezed

daddy’s when he

was afraid of thunder

and now both

in the hospital’s

dark moments

loving & assuring.

"His eyes are saying goodbye", you are capable of very sensitive very tender writing Richard. But some of this is a little puzzling one should have a bit more background I think.
