absorbs the sound
of wide open throttles
and frost-decorated visors
winter overrun
by snowmobiles. Parading
engines as ribbons of
movement. Spinning tracks
to Beausoleil Island.
Ahead are clumps
of land where Canada’s
Group of Seven once painted
a blending of forest
water and sky. Today’s
landscape a spider-web
of trails criss-crossing
30,000 Island’s Park. Our fun
etched upon a tabloid of
stuttering noises.
