The Jacket (short short story)

One day I was hurrying for an important appointment, jumped in the car and suddenly remembered my jacket. My composed sister pulled over at the next block, ran into the Dollar store and bought me a sports coat for $1. She has an eye for tasteful clothes and asked, “How much did you pay for it?” She seemed quite satisfied when I answered, “$79 on sale for $29. Later, when I told the truth we all had a good laugh.
