Just Looking (StoryPoem)

When a new day begins we are left to wonder which direction will capture our attention, our steps. Unless one plans meticulously they may not accomplish what they set out to do--
A step in the right
direction, one foot following
the other
pacing life’s promise
a journey into day
And then new resolutions appear on our horizon; such iridescent hues commanding, influencing us as we struggle to maintain composure. Yet these new flavours are distinctive--
burn of sun after the rainbow
rain cluttering the grass
spirits washed clean
and I’m still looking
Youthful escapes translate into the reality of growth, seeking the boundaries of any barrier as we transcend the gift of love. And we do inhabit any place providing a measure of sustenance--
for the grass that bends
people who stoop
and anyone seeking the
spirit of life--
Yet, I follow their parade.
