Courageous Princess who
endured threats and torture-chants
led a marauding group
to their deaths,
lured them over the falls
to their Maker
hiss of arrow, cries of anger
Sioux war-calls dimmed.
Daughter from the mountain,
mist upon the waters
never to be vanquished…
