Beneath the simplicity of another
day, I am a voyeur
sitting on the river bank
Robin taking a break
from marching in strutting attention,
drinks at water-flow’s edge
clouds jostling in the sunlight.
Blades of grass as sentinels
in the parlour of a new season
girl and guy arm in arm
smitten in the rush of Spring
ripples smudge the shoreline
as poplar trees quiver in
the shadows
breath of sun upon my face.
Wife calling Supper, detracts
from my view, time to
stick out my chest
with the sights I’ve seen.

Richard, I really hate these
Richard, I really hate these lovely poems of yours, they set such wonderful scenes of nature and beauty and tranquility! We don't get any of that in East London!
Thoroughly enjoyed mate.

Hiya Richard, good to be
Hiya Richard, good to be reading you again. And this one's a happy reminder that we've come to the end of another rough winter.

lovely work, delightful to share your world for a few moments and for them to linger in my head for a while longer.
