North Cape, Prince Edward Island
Bird-like windmills capture a rogue wind
measuring, recording
situated at the Point, a finger of
land daring to penetrate
ocean’s chill, where
salty licks climb the shore
where a grandpa and grandson
share hiking conversations, about life
wisdom, youthful dreams.
In a pavilion of brick and glass,
Wind ‘n Surf restaurant
patrons discuss their private hopes
and plans. And nearby
the lighthouse beacon signals
its own message of trust.
