Thank you Nolan. I was born and lived in northern Quebec for 23 years. There is so much mineral ON them thar ridges, much of it taken out 50 years or more, and lots left in other places. My first job was as a hard rock copper miner and went 2,500 feet below ground. It went down 8,200 feet and two miles long at the bottom of the main shaft. The Noranda Copper Mine in Noranda, near my city of Rouyn, lasted 24-7 from 1929 to 1979 and brought out the richest copper in the world, 98% pure.

This is very interesting Richard. South-Africa is also known for it's great mineral riches but I have never worked on a mine. Once I did go down in a gold mine, Western Deep Levels 3km under ground at the time the deepest mine in the world. We have everything here save for oil.

Hello Nolan -- my wife and I just got up -- 7:15 am at the latest each day, except it is 6:15 on Sundays in order to get to church. Most of Quebec and about 40% of Ontario is in the minera rich Precambrian Shied..ie richest mines in the world when silver was found in Larder Lake, Ontario -- uranium in Elliot Lake Ontario -- nickel in Sudbury, Ontario AND gold in Kirkland Lake, Ontario as examples. Those mines operated about 50 years 24-7 now replaced by new ones. So what was your desire to write?.
