Of Our Desires

Life’s long distance run
is an adventure
first, ring-sharing then vows
until the end of our times.

Children may follow in the
world of love, pain
and growing into daily
tunes, family-living

entering the realm of desires
tummies beginning
to expand
flesh sloppy, eyesight dim.

Yet we grow closer
in daily considerations
remembering
special moments
in the grandeur of living
and gazing with caring eyes
one to another
rockers squeaking slower
in movements.
