AS OUR FERRYBOAT DEPARTS poem

As Our Ferryboat Departs

Day’s end is an embrace
of cumulous clouds
hosting edge-of-sky

brilliance,

ocean’s surface
a reflecting dance
on Northumberland Strait

passengers
energized in friendship

cameras alive with memories
from their Prince Edward
island touring, and

footsteps across the
deck whisper a simple wish,
hurry back farewell kiss.
